Goals Revised...

Lately... training hasn't been that great... and my lack of motivation is partly to blame... and with what I've changed some goals for this upcoming season.

*Being Bad Ass... that's one goal i've already seemed to accomplish. Sure I'm not a sub 3 hr 30 minute marathoner or a sub 11 hr Ironman... but i'm still Bad Ass as I see it. I've accomplished alot as a triathlete and a runner over the past 6 years... and even is this is not my best season ever... I'm still Bad Ass... and you know that!

*Finishing Gracefully... and that goes for every race I touch the starting line of... whether a sprint tri or a marathon. No number goals... and if I start beating myself up becuase I didn't finish the race within a certain time... someone bop me over the head and remind me of this!

*Don't Give Up... which means I won't be pulling out of Ironman Lake Placid or the Athens Ohio Marathon. Though my training for either race has not gone great... I'm not giving up on either race.

*Have Fun... only because I'm no pro and don't plan on being one anytime soon!

More to come...

I like the 'Finishing Gracefully' I'm going to remember that one this sunday for my 10k. I've been sorta sick the past few weeks, so don't feel like my numbers are there to do well, but none the less i will finish gracefully;-) thx!

Those are some great goals - ones that all of us should always remember. Anything can happen on race day and finishing gracefully always sounds like the BEST thing ever!

You know... you tell someone you are a 12 hour IMer and you usually get a blank stare.... You tell an IMer your a 12 hour IMer and they usually say, "nice job". You tell the same person you are a 11hr. 30 minute IMer (a feat that probably took twice as much training to accomplish) and guess what... they say "nice job"

It's the finish that counts. Take time for other important stuff in your life, it's called balance and usually takes until you are my age to realize
