The Big 2 oh...

Running my first and only 20 miler of the my Philly training brought alot of comfort and eased my anxiety about the upcoming marathon. My time for the 20 was oh so very slow... but like anything else in training... I DID IT! It was a cool and damp Sunday morning but it turned out to be perfect for a long run. I ran almost the whole entire 20 without anyone to pass me as I shuffled along. I ended up changing my route a bit. I did the Bethesda Chevy Chase loop first, then ran down the Crescent into Georgetown, hit a bit of DC, then turned around to run back up the Crescent. Coming back up to Bethesda is on an incline, but for some reason I didn't seem to notice it all too much. If the plan had called for more than 20 I could have easily done it. I guess that means I'm ready for 26.2 miles of greatness on Nov 22.

More to come...

Nice job! My friend Sarah, who's the fastest female marathoner I know personally, told me before my first marathon that the long runs aren't meant to be ego boosts — they're meant to be gotten through. Nice job getting through it!
