Hot and Sticky Runnin'

Tuesday and Wednesday nite were both bot and very much sticky nites to go running. Tuesday was a normal nite with Pacers. We ran the Grubb Out and Back course.... which meant one thing... lots and lots of hills. I once again ran with my new running buddy and friend Neicy. Our run started out stopping at every single lite but still managing to hold onto a 7:42 pace for that first mile out... way tooooooo fast I tell ya. Well after that the hills came in. They were steep... they were tough... but they were forgiven after we tackled them... one hill at a time. Approaching the turn around at Grubb Rd and East West Hwy was a huge relief. Going back was mostly downhill but had a few little uphills mixed into it. At this point I was still running with Neicy but fading a little. She is one in shape runner. A little later on in the run... two lights before the end of the run she made it through a light that I had to wait at... but met up with another fun runner at that light to finish off the run... once the light changed. Well as we turned onto Fenton for the final sprint... we could hear Neicy screaming and cheering us on... how sweet. After a little of haning out at Pacers... can you guess where Neicy and I ended up? That's right Smoothie King for some nice refreshing cool smoothies. All together a tough but fun nite.

Wednesday brought another nite of hot and sticky runnin'... this time on the track with MoCo Road Runners. My plan was to run between 7 and 8 miles total. Did four loops of the track, another mile and a quater around the Montgomery College campus and one more loop of the track to get in two and half miles. The workout called for 8 x 800s with a 400 recovery. I skipped the 400 recovery and rested for about two minutes... so I just did 8 of the 800s. My times were insanely slow... none of them reaching the under 4 minute category... but thats ok... I got very close a few times. After the 800s it was another loop around the Montgomery College campus and a loop of the track to reach 8 miles for the evening. I was pooped and ready for pizza and good times afterwards at Guiseppi's Pizza at Rockville Town Center.

More to come...

I haaaate 800's, they zap me. It's hard to get it all in at the right paces when the humidity is rockin like this! You said pizzaaaaaa...
8x800s=ewww NOT fun! the second lap is always a killer... You finished them and that is what counts. Plus pizza always makes it better :)

Nice runs, and even BETTER post-run refueling! Can't wait to make it on a Pacers run again now that we're back in town!
