Another Running Fall...

Last nite was a perfect evening to run the trails of Rock Creek Park with Pacers... temps in the low 80s... low humidity... almost no wind. As pace groups were called I headed out with the 8:30-9 min/mile pace group. That lasted on Colsville, North Portal, East Beach, and West Beach but once we hit the start of the trail they were gone... so I had to fend for myself for a little bit. I was lucky to then find a few others who were aways back to run the remainder of the trails. I did a good job navigating my way through the beauty that the trails hold. All was going good until I had to stop to tie my shoelace and then as soon as I got back running my shoe hit something and PLOP... I made a crash landing onto the trail. I got back up though and continued to run. Though my legs and arms not to mention my shirt was covered in dirt... and both knees got cuts... I finished the run but slowly. I shortly but slowly made my way back to the store where everyone was in amazement that I went down again. But overall a good run otherwise. I enjoy the trails but I think I need a break from them... esp since I keep on going down.

More to come..

Way to finish the run - I try to laugh at myself and it makes it easier...

I have learned that trails are not my friend and I need to stick to the roads. I hope you have better luck and recover quickly.

OK, you peoples have me scared to even try single track at this point! I'm on vacation in CO and was going to hit it tomorrow but I may just have to skip it and stick to the roads...ice that junk.
