Unfortunately...

I had to ask myself one simple question.... why the hell am I doing this... refering to my training for the upcoming triathlon season. Is it because I'm not as strong this year as I was last when training for an Ironman? Is it becuase I'm aging up to a new age group? Is it becuase I'm scared of what my results may look like this season? Who knows! But why the hell am I doing this sport? Can someone help me answer this question or at least give me some suggestions?

More to come...

Didnt you write that "meaning of tri" essay where you pretty much had to answer those questions?

Maybe it's time for a short break. Hopefully you'll realize how much you miss it.

IM training is NO dayum joke, that's for sure. Self doubt runs amok.

I always ask myself the question why and I never come up with a really good answer. Other than...

Because I can!

Because you love it and life would be boring without it ;-)

Just think about the last training run, or swim, or ride, that felt so fabulous, you felt like you could conquer the world when you were done. Channel whatever potent emotional cocktail you felt then to remember why you're doing this -- which can be hard to do when you're slogging through day-to-day training!

Because it's become part of who you are and when the races are all said and done, you'll feel better about your self.

Training isn't the fun part, but it'll pay off!
