Bike and Brick

Yesterday was another gorgeous day here in the DC area which means it was time for a long ride. The plan was to get 50 in but due to my hard run the day before hence my legs being sore as heck, I rode 40 instead! The ride took me along the beautiful North end of Beach Drive, then down through the closed parts to the most Southern end, back up to ride the North end on more time. Due to my lack of cycling it wasn't the fastest ride but it was a good one. Once my legs got in the groove I was able to maintain my speed very well. The little hills coming back from the South end just about took all the juice out of me, since it is a constant climb back up. But overall a good ride.

Following the ride I did a short 15 minute brick run and boy did my legs feel it! They felt like Jello and I never got in the groove. Good thing I only ran 1 1/2 miles total.

Hoping the warm weatehr sticks around so I can get out more often on the saddle!

More to come...

Bricks are definitely hard - but necessary!

Ooo man, I miss biking outside. It was warm here for two days, but now back to the chilliness. Good job with the training (and I like your new banner).

Good for you with that training session! Wow, no kidding the legs were sore! :)
LUCKY! We are having another day of freezing rain. Hopefully it wil turn to snow and I can at least ski on it... Glad you had a nice run, too. Gotta love the confidence builders.
