Getting Used To...

Since my move back to the Washington DC area almost a month ago... it's taking time to getting used to my new training environment.

Swimming:
Still doing it... only on my own right now... while I find a masters team to join. Still getting workouts sent from Coach Dave... but changing things up. The pool is meters and I'm used to yards. The far end of the pool has a bulkhead... so it bites my feet when I do my flipturn... ouch!

Cycling:
Cooler temps... I'm always wearing armwarmers. The nicest day so far cycling has been in the low 60s... but I still had to wear my armwarmers. Hilly... so i'm getting my CDA legs back. Lots of rollers... lots of steep curvy climbs. Riding my road bike more often... its nice training on it over my QRoo :) Having to drive to where I wanna bike stinks... but there is no way I'd get a on a jammed local road on a bike... period!

Running
Perfect! Hilly... flat... it's a wonderful mix. Running through the leaves is awesome... just totally awesome! Running in places where others run... even better. The temps have been perfect for fall running as I get ready to Run the Rock in just less than a month!

More to come...

DC area has a ton of great trails. My good friend Ty Heaton lives there and hosts runs all over town, especially around the monuments. The business is primarily used by out of town guests who want to see the sights - so they customize runs for them from 5 to 16 miles. You should look him up! He goes to their hotels to pick them up and off they go running. It's a cool business. I'm sure he enjoy the company if you ever wanted to join him. Plus he's a hottie. ;-)

Glad you're lovin' DC. What neighborhood are you living in?

Meters will be so much better for you than yards! You'll see...
