Almost Blown Away...

In prep for White Rock in 5 weeks time... I ran just a tad over 3 hours... enough time to complete the 20 miler I had on the schedule. Wanted to do something differnt for this long run. I started in Bethesda... headed down the Capital Cresent into Georgetown... into DC... past the Watergate building and Kennedy Center... into West Potomac Park for a loop of Hains Pt... to the Washington Monument... up the mall... past the Smithsonian museams... past the US Capitol Building... to Union Station... turned around... headed back down the mall towards the Washington Monument... and that was my run. I then Metroed it back to Bethesda... where I was shivering on the train... to then run 4 blocks back to my car.

I've never felt so good on a 20 miler as I did today... except for the cold and wind combined. I didn't freeze but that wind made it miserable. Be happy I'm still around cause the wind gave me a fight today. It was blowing at 20 and gusting to about 35 mph. I know what a great day to do a long run. Overall I am content with the long run today.

On tap next Saturady is an 18 miler... and the course I did today will repeated again... except for knocking off 2 miles of it.

More to come...

Great job! Glad you went out running today instead of yesterday, I'm sure the cooler temps were awesome (well, despite the winds).
